Got Questions?
We've Got Answers!
How long are chiropractic visits? What do they look like?
Initial visits to the chiropractor can take up to 45 minutes. In this time we perform a thorough exam where we go over your health history, habits and lifestyle and your reason for coming in. We assess your nervous system and posture , your joints and mobility, and your muscles. we explain the issue and come up with a plan. Subsequent visits are often shorter and typically 10-15 minutes long.
Does Chiropractic Care Hurt? Is it Dangerous?
Chiropractic care is not dangerous and is infact a safer alternative to other forms of medicine. It is important to have a proper assessment done to ensure that your chiropractor can apply the most effective treatment for your body. While Chiropractic care does not cause pain, you can feel some soreness following care or the next day due to new movement of the joints similar to after an active day. This feeling is quick to subside
Do I need to come in forever once I start care?
The short answer is no, you are free to come in as often or as little as you’d like! Our Chiropractors will suggest a treatment plan based on evidence and experience to get you to a place where they feel you will not relapse. We encourage patients to complete their initial plan to achieve the best results but there is no obligation. Most of our patients come in on a regular bases to combat the regular stressors of daily life.
What is a Chiropractic Adjustment? Do I need one?
In simple terms, a Chiropractic Adjustment is some type of input to the nervous system usually via the spine or extremity joints. The adjustment helps to “reset” the function in that region of the spine and restores proprioception, an important sense in the body that helps the brain keep track of a joint and surrounding areas. When a joint lacks its proper motion or has abnormal motion, the brain can lose its feedback and respond with less blood flow, nutrients, and increase inflammation and muscle tightness.
Chiropractic adjustments can be achieved through a number of tools and techniques ranging from very gentle, to more physical manual adjustments. We utilize a variety of techniques based on our patients health and comfort.
I have Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, etc. Should I see A Chiropractor?
Yes!
While Chiropractors are often known for large manual adjustments to move joints and relax muscles, that is not our goal most of the time (we still do this time to time!). Chiropractors work to increase the function of the nervous system first, and then restore function to the rest of the body. Chiropractic can be very beneficial for all of the conditions noted above and many others. We will work together to reduced Auto Immune flare ups through gentle care and life style modifications. Reduce inflammation in conditions like arthritis with gentle movement, and look to stop or reverse osteoporotic patients with gentle care, supplementation, and exercises.
My Issue Is Not In The Spine, Can a Chiropractor Still Help?
Another Yes!
Chiropractors are experts on Spinal health, mechanics, and pathologies, But we are well trained with every joint and region of the body. We are thorough in our assessment and if there’ something we can’t help, we will find you someone who can. Where Chiropractors stand out in extremity pain, is that we have a unique ability to assess where pain is originating. Many practitioners will work on the painful region without much progress. We will start upstream as many painful injuries are caused by inadequate movement or structures elsewhere.
Do Chiropractors Do Rehab? My Relief Doesn't Last Forever.
TLDR: Yes, Our Chiropractors are well trained in some of the most cutting edge rehab from Prague. Rather than cookie cutter rehab programs, we use nervous system regulation and core stability in low impact movements to restore function. We often give take home exercises and work on things in office to prolong and enhance your results
Chiropractors are not Pain Doctors and while one of the best side effects is reduced pain, we are more concerned with other metrics when going through care such as muscles tone, swelling, range of motion, sensitive skin, trigger points, stress and so on. Your current being is an accumulation of all your life’s habits, stressors, and traumas. Our goal is to reset these patterns with an adjustment. Adjustments are very powerful but do not last forever. We use corrective movements to send home to help reinforce the changes we make in office
